'One Punch Man' season 2 release date rumors: Fans expecting October release; production reportedly in first phase

"One Man Punch" fans are getting excited for the upcoming season, and though it is just rumors, their longing may end by October. The production team is said to be gearing up and season 2 production is in its first phase already.

According to several reports, it is now rumored that the upcoming second season of "One Punch Man" may be getting an October release. Though no exact date has been discussed, it is speculated that the production team already started working a few months back.

The Christian Times reported that Yusuke Murata, the manga creator, and his own team of artists have been working double time to finish up 100 pieces each of sketches, inked pages and storyboards, day- n, day out. These materials will be used by Madhouse Entertainment studio to turn into an anime.

Murata is dedicated to providing only the best materials for his manga masterpiece, the report continued.

It is speculated that the second season will be featuring a fight between two superheroes, which is also a trend in Hollywood movies. It is rumored that Saitama's organization, the Hero Association, will be up against another group, led by its former S-Class, rank 1 member, Blast.

Breathecast added that the first episode will be titled "The First Hero" and will feature a stronger Lord Boros, who's able to block and counter attack Saitama's moves.

The report also mentioned that Amai Mask will be introduced in the premier episode of season 2. Amai Mask is a Class A Rank superhero who turned into a villain. It is not clear yet if Caped Baldy will immediately face Amai Mask.

If production officially started last February, based on other report, and with Otakukart previously suggesting that it may take up to two years to finish a season, fans may have to wait until 2018 for the next season to be ready.

However, fans are hoping to see "One Punch Man" second season this year.
