The new update for the controversial game "No Man's Sky" seems to be the first step that the game's developer is taking to improve the title's lukewarm reception among gamers. The massive Foundation Update has radically expanded the game, and with Hello Games saying that they will release more exciting updates as well as bug fixes, they hope that the players they disappointed will give the game a second chance.
According to GameSpot, the latest update includes data files that were not implemented yet which hint at a new feature that the developers are planning to introduce in the near future.
The alleged files were first discovered by Reddit users, and the data includes textures and a model for what appears to be a buggy. After importing the data into the game, the user released a video of what the schematics looked like.
With this, Hello Games could be working on something that will give players a way to quickly get around the planets' vast landscapes while ensuring that the tasks of gathering resources and exploration are much easier. Right now, players can only walk slowly through the game's terrain or use the super-fast ship from point A to point B.
The files are available for download, which can be used as a mod, but as of now the files are insufficient when used as a functional vehicle.
Hello Games, however, has not officially confirmed the introduction of the buggy vehicle just yet. The developer did say that the Foundation Update will be true to its name, and that it will serve as the groundwork for good things to come.
According to iTechPost, the update is now available and the download size for it has reached a massive 2.7 GB, which is large enough for a full game.
Regardless, the game's developers are clearly working non-stop to save the title from being a flop. Fans of the title are glad of Hello Games' efforts, which shows that "No Man's Sky" still has a chance of redeeming itself in the eyes of gamers everywhere.
