"No Man's Sky," by developer Hello Games, is one of the most disappointing games that were released this year. Now, the development team is trying to resurrect the game and bring it to its full glory with the "Foundation" update.

The game's "Foundation" update is now live and available to download. Several days ago, an official statement was put up by the studio and broke almost three long months of silence. They mentioned that they have been hard at work with the "Foundation" update that adds the groundwork for base building. This will also be the basis for future updates that will bring further improvements to the game.

The team said: "This week Hello Games will be releasing an update to No Man's Sky. We're calling it The Foundation Update, because we have added the foundations of base building, and also because this is putting in place a foundation for things to come."

"In the nine weeks since then our small team has been hard at work on development, testing and certification for the Foundation Update. It won't be our biggest update, but it is the start of something," they added.

They also mentioned that they will continue to listen to the things the gamers will say, whether they be positive or negative. They did acknowledge that they were quiet for a while, but they have not stopped listening to the gamers. Players can also look forward to their promise that they will continue focusing on bringing improvements to the game.

The "Foundation" update brings in three game modes. The first is Normal, with, as the name suggests, normal difficulty, resources, and cost. It also comes with the Creative mode, where every player can do whatever they want and everything is free. Lastly, it comes with the Survival mode, where everything is in the extreme, VG247 reports.

Players can also build their own base station to store farm produce, gear, and even give tasks to a non-playable character (NPC) to do some research. Another new feature included is the ability to go back to the home base. This was the common complaint previously.

"No Man's Sky" is now available on the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.
