Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime said in a recent interview that the company will prepare more Switch and SNES Classic units for the coming holidays.
The company is no stranger to stock problems, as their consoles and games sell fast. This time, they plan to keep up with the orders by just having more products on the shelves than they have had before.
In an interview with The Washington Post, Fils-Aime said that Nintendo will try its best to have a regular supply of the Switch and the SNES Classic. However, he admitted that predicting the demand for such products is not an easy task.
Also, the Nintendo president revealed that they will not be having the special Black Friday promotions for the Switch. While this seems counterintuitive, it is a boon to consumers as Black Friday deals tend to contribute to the fast clearing-out of the console off the shelves.
"We're focusing on making sure we have a robust supply at retail," Fils-Aime said in the interview. He further drives the point home by saying that the company is not discounting the Nintendo Switch for the coming holidays.
The Nintendo president said that they were also learning from lessons because of what happened to the company last year. At the time, many prospective gamers wanted to get their hands on a throwback NES Classic but were frustrated when they realized that the company has trouble filling up orders and keeping up with the demand.
This time, the company is confident that they can keep the supplies going well ahead into 2018.
A research firm called NPD Group recently revealed that the company's current-generation handheld console is still the fastest-selling Nintendo console ever. It's not hard to imagine more fans wanting to experience the new handheld, and Fils-Aime's reassurance is relevant to anyone who wants to get their hands on their very own Switch.
