Video game giant Square Enix is not leaving anything to chance with the sequel "NieR: Automata." In this goal, they have made a few collaborations with other game studios and arguably one of its most popular titles of all time, "Final Fantasy."

"NieR: Automata" is an action role-playing game developed by Square Enix that brings the players to a distant future where the Earth is invaded by an otherworldly civilization who uses "machine lifeforms." Being outclassed, humans had to flee and take refuge on the Moon, where the Council of Humanity plans on retaliation by means of Androids.

In order to bring the unfamiliar game to a more mainstream audience, a unique crossover has been made between "NieR: Automata" and "Final Fantasy XV." As per reports from Gematsu, one of the Androids, known as YoRHa No. 2 Type B, will be wielding the "Engine Blade," a weapon known to be Noctis'. Details from the "NieR: Automata" is also set to make an appearance on "Final Fantasy XV," although no news has been gathered yet on what it specifically is.

Japanese website Famitsu was able to provide a recent clip showing a 25-second gameplay where the engine blade is featured. From the looks of it, it appears to give the Android the same ability that Noctis has while wielding the weapon, most noticeably the way the character warps out of harm's way.

But that's not all. The Verge has learned that a collaboration with Platinum Games, the studio behind titles like "Vanquish," "Bayonetta" and "Metal Gear: Revengeance," will be aiding Square Enix in making the game better and bigger. Platinum will be working on the actual gameplay, making the attacks and camera work more seamless and effortless, compared to its predecessor which was described as awkward and clumsy.

Whether the results of the said collaborations will create a new opening for the game is yet to be seen. "NieR: Automata" will be launched on PS4 and PC platforms in early 2017.
