A Nexus smartphone from Google is expected to be unveiled this fall, but a final release date still needs to be confirmed.

In the meantime, rumor has it that Google will announce Nexus 5 (2015) either in late September or early in October.

Based on the recent spec leaks reported by Android Police and coming from a trusted source of the news outlet, the new Nexus 5 will carry specs different from the previously rumored ones.

It remains uncertain if the device will be called Nexus 5, but according to rumors it, will have a 5.2-inch 1080 display — not 2k, as previously reported.

The new specs report also contradicted rumors that the device would feature a Quad HD resolution, since it was found that the phone will use full HD display that could help it consume less power.

As for other specs, Android Police reported that Nexus 5 (2015) will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, as opposed to the 615 or 810 from previous speculations.

The phone will also have 3 GB RAM, 12.3-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. No other details of the camera have been given out.

The device will also offer two storage options: 16 GB and 32 GB, and there will be no 64 GB capacity as stated in previous reports.

As for the battery, the new report stated that the upcoming Nexus 5 will have a 2,700 mAh battery.

On the outside, the phone will be available in three color options — black, blue and white.

The details for the pricing are yet to be made public; but according to GSM Arena, Nexus 5 (2015) will be cheaper than the 2014 Nexus 6 phablet from Motorola.

Meanwhile, the rumor about the device having USB Type-C connector is consistent, but it is still uncertain if it will be a 3.1 or the usual 2.0.

The best bet for the release date will be by the end of this month, but delays are inevitable and they could happen. In the meantime, Nexus fans just have to wait once invites to a launching event will be issued.
