Fans of the famed Dragon Ball Z series will be glad to note that the said anime will be returning after a decade.

The news comes from Toei Animation who bared that they are starting work on the said series which will be known as Chou (Super). Series creator Akira Toriyama will be in charge of the rebooted series once again.

A little bit of insight on why it will be called Dragon Ball Chou was the fact that 'Chou' has reportedly been used in Dragon Ball commercials, games and almost everything associated with the said franchise.

The series will pick off when Goku defeated Majin Buu which resulted in a more peaceful world. On what would happen after that remains after that will be left to the creative hands of Akira Toriyama who will work on the series in collaboration with Fuji Television.

Osamu Nozaki of Fuji Television explains that majority of the things to expect for the rebooted series will entirely be up to Toriyama. The said plot is tagged as a 'dream come true' for Dragon Ball fans although taking into account the new age followers will also be put into consideration.

The announcement of the series couldn't have come at a better time considering some Dragon Ball movies are set to be released.

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and the highly anticipated Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F have garnered quite a following, making it all but perfect to announce the reboot of the series which started out in 1984. The last Dragon Ball Z GT aired back in 1997.

With such a long wait, expect Dragon Ball fans to impatiently await the coming of the new and rebooted series. Should its return garner success as most expect, here is hoping it stays up in the air longer.

Dragon Ball Chou is set to air first in Japan this coming July.
