NBA trade rumors: Golden State Warriors to pursue Bucks center Greg Monroe?

After acquiring Kevin Durant for the 2016-2017 NBA season, the Golden State Warriors may still be shopping for another player to complete their roster before the season begins in October.

Speculations claim that the Warriors are looking for a way to strike a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks to get Greg Monroe on their side to strengthen their center position.

According to the report from Morning News USA, the 26-year-old center has the skills to help the Warriors beef up front-court firepower. He could play with Anderson Varejao and Zaza Pachulia in the center position.

The Warriors also have a third center in the 2016 30th draft overall pick Damian Jones, but he is still expected to be sent to the Developmental League for the upcoming season. This means that the team might still need another man to help them in their rebounding stats.

A report from Blue Man Hoop suggested that the Warriors could let go of some of their players like Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala in order to keep the Bucks interested to give them Monroe.

But getting Monroe could put another huge dent on the salary cap for the Warriors, since the team already used most of it in order to get Durant from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Reports claim that Monroe will get $16 million for the upcoming season, as well as for the next two years of his contract with his current team. This could require the Warriors to sacrifice a lot in order to get him to sign up.

Meanwhile, 25-year-old Phil Pressey was reportedly invited to join the Warriors' training sessions for this year. This could mean that the team is interested to sign the point guard, but there is no guarantee for the deal.
