NBA trade rumors 2016: Boston Celtics looking to trade six players ahead of new season?

In a matter of days, the 2016–2017 NBA regular season is about to start. All teams are all geared up and ready to face all the games they will face for the next six months. However, there are rumors that the Boston Celtics are still trying to make a trade to further reinforce their lineup. It is speculated that there is a total of six players that will exchange hands.

Sportsrageous reported that the Celtics and the Indiana Pacers are trying to close a deal that will gain one team two players and the other team with six players. Small forward Paul George and shooting guard Monta Ellis will go to Boston, while Jaylen Brown, Jae Crowder, Amir Johnson, James Young, and two future first-round picks will go to the Pacers.

George's career average stands at 16.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists, which would be the perfect partner for Celtics' Al Horford. George will then be able to call the shots from upstate, while Horford controls the lower section. Their individual styles will complement each other. Adding Ellis to the equation, the team will be able to address the backcourt problem that currently needs attention.

However, NBA experts believe that the Pacers will not easily let go of George, who is a big asset to the team. Even Larry Bird, the team's president, has big confidence in George that will eventually have a good playing performance with the prospering Myles Turner. Plus, he is also locked until the 2018-2019 season, which means, he is worth the star. This is the reason why the rumors suggest that there will be more players going to the Pacers in exchange for him, The Ringer added.

Meanwhile, other reports suggest that there is also another last minute trade that is about to go down. If the rumors prove to be true, Ricky Rubio of Minnesota Timberwolves will go to the Sixers in exchange for Nik Stauskas and Jahlil Okafor.

In the meantime, fans cannot wait for the upcoming season to start with all the trades and new talents that happened during the summer.
