'Narcos' season 2 spoilers: Paolo Escobar's death to be featured?

Narcos Netflix

Netflix's new series "Narcos" follows the story of Colombian drug kingpin, Pablo Escobar, whose name used to ignite fear among people involved in the drug industry. The series' first season was received well by the audiences that they couldn't wait for the next season to air.

It appears that it would still be a long wait if rumors were true that "Narcos" season 2 would premiere sometime in August 2016, KDrama Stars reported.

Speculations on this release date make sense because "Narcos" season 1 made its debut on August of this year. It is likely that Netflix will release the next installment on the same month.

Still, this remains to be pure speculations and an announcement from the streaming service has yet to be given.

The first season treated fans to only 10 episodes on Escobar's reign in the drug cartel, but those who binged watch just couldn't get enough of the series.

In season 1 finale, the show featured Escobar's escape from Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent Steve (Boyd Holbrook), with the latter vowing to capture the drug lord. The finale left a cliffhanger episode for fans, but not totally, since "Narcos" is based on true events and it's easy to predict how it will continue.

It was previously reported  that season 2 would give focus to Escobar's run from the authorities. It was also speculated — although not surprising — that he would die on that season, which could mean the wrapping up of the series.

However, there's also the possibility that "Narcos'" producers will give more stories to tell. If that happens, speculations suggest that the upcoming season will focus on Escobar's life during that time when he's been under the radar.

There were also reports suggesting that Escobar's rivals in the drug business may also be featured in the upcoming season.

"Narcos" stars Wagner Moura as Escobar, Holbrook as DEA Agent Steve Murphy and Pedro Pascal as DEA Agent Javier Peña.
