Microsoft introduced its new Windows 10 devices, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, in October. Now that the phones are available, some users got the privilege to use it and share their opinion about the latest devices.
The two differ greatly in their screen size and performance, with the latter bearing more powerful specs. Both are considered to have potential with impressive camera features, high-resolution display, and offering Continuum and Windows Hello features, according to Chris Velazco of Engadget.
Lumia 950 is the company's first phone to ever be installed with a Windows 10 Mobile platform, which will officially rollout by December, the news outlet stated.
On the outside, the 5.2-inch 950 doesn't stand out when it comes to its appearance. The tech company still uses polycarbonate casing for the latest devices, a material that makes the Lumia feel light and solid.
Under the hood, the 950 carries a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor with 3 GB RAM and an internal storage capacity of 32 GB. It is also powered by a 3,000 mAh battery.
Its bigger brother, the 950 XL, has larger screen display measured at 5.7-inch and has more a more powerful Snapdragon 810 processor and a 3,340 mAh battery.
Neowin noted that 950 XL will feel large to the first touch for those who have used previous Lumia models, the 930, 1020, or any model bearing the same size. For those who have used Lumia 1520, the 950 XL will be all too familiar to the touch.
As for the camera specs, both devices carry the same 20-megapixel PureView main camera equipped with triple LED flash and a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. Engadget described that taking pictures can be impressively quick, giving users only a brief moment of screen darkening after snapping a photo.
Currently, the Lumia 950 may be purchased for $600 from mobile carrier AT&T and $550 when unlocked. The 950 XL, on the other hand, is not being carried by a mobile carrier and may be bought directly from Microsoft for $650 or from a third party seller.
