Eight years and three "Men in Black" movies ago, the world was uninitiated to the idea of seeing men parading around in black suits, keeping alien peace and carrying around memory-wiping gadgets on the big screen. But thanks to Hollywood, "Men in Black" has since been embedded into the American culture.

Now, years after news of "Men in Black 4," the wait has nearly driven fans to the brink of insanity, as the idea of a fourth installation to the alien franchise is nothing short of exhilarating for them.

But rumors of Will Smith, who played the iconic Agent J, leaving the franchise will surely break hearts.

Reports have it that Smith will not be returning to reprise his role in "Men in Black 4." And the rumors only gained momentum when Smith gave an interview to Collider and said, "I think three is enough for me. Three of anything is enough for me. We'll look at it and we'll consider it, but it feels like that it might be time to let someone else do that."

However, fans of the comedic Agent J are not the only ones hoping for the opposite. Producer Walter Parkes is also wishing for Smith's return, reportedly telling the BBC, "Never count Will out." It's not a confirmation of Smith's involvement in the film, but it does provide some sort of comfort for fans.

But Smith is not the only person the producers are counting on. Producer Laurie MacDonald also said to BBC that a female agent will be introduced in the fourth comedy sci-fi film. "There will be a prominent woman in black in the fourth [film]," said MacDonald.

It may be about time that a film with such a title would include a woman in a lead role. After all, it's 2015.

As of now, no official release date for "Men in Black 4" has been announced.
