DC Extended Universe (DCEU) currently has plenty of films in development. One of the highly anticipated characters to appear on the big screen is Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam. However, despite previous reports, it turns out that the first appearance of this character will not be in the movie "Shazam!" Instead, he will be introduced as the villain in the "Man of Steel" sequel, rumors say.

A Reddit user, who claims to have connections inside the DC creative team, leaked that the "Shazam!" is "off the table at this point" as Warner Bros. allegedly did not feel confident about the first script. The idea of Johnson's Black Adam making a cameo in "Man of Steel 2" was also being tossed around, but it was decided later on to make his character the main villain of the film as the team thought that a big star like Johnson deserved a bigger project.

There is no certainty to this information as it came from an unnamed source, but a recent interview with Johnson seems to have hinted that this rumor might have some weight to it. At the red carpet during the premiere of "The Fate of the Furious," Johnson told MTV correspondent Josh Horowitz that he has had discussions with DC's Geoff Jones and they have decided to create a scenario in which his Black Adam character gets a stand-alone film, and Captain Marvel/Shazam has his own as well. He added, "We're building our world that way, and then we can come together at some point."

This may contradict the rumor that "Shazam" is "off the table," but it could mean that fans would have to wait for a few more years for the film to hit the big screen. In the interview, Johnson also said that they have a surprise for Black Adam. He cannot reveal what it is yet, but he assures fans that it will be "awesome."

Could this be hinting his role in "Man of Steel 2"?
