The trailer for "Longmire" season 5 has been released, giving fans a preview of what to expect in what looks to be an action-packed new season of the western drama.

"Longmire" season 5 will follow the events that transpired in the previous season, wherein Walt (Robert Taylor) and Donna (Ally Walker) were attacked by an intruder at the former's home.

The trailer begins with Donna crying as she desperately tries to wake a bloodied and unconscious Walt up. While he survived, it appears that the incident has somewhat left him a bit disoriented as he starts to act out of the usual run of things.

This had Vic (Katee Sackhoff) and Ferg (Adam Bartley) worried, and the latter knows that something about Walt is "a little off," and that he is not doing well as he claims.

In "Longmire" season 5, it looks like Walt will find a way to find the responsible party all while dealing disloyalty all around him including the fact that his daughter Cady (Cassidy Freeman) chose to work for Jacob Nighthorse (A Martinez).

The trailer also teases tension between Walt and Henry (Lou Diamond Phillips) as the former learns of the latter's vigilante ways. An intense confrontation between the two was glimpsed in the trailer.

"All I ever do is try and help people. All I ever get in return is people lying to me," Walt tells Henry, who replied "You choose to see it as disloyalty..." Walt cut him off saying "Dishonesty is disloyalty."

With that, fans can expect to see their friendship crack in "Longmire" season 5. However, things will not be all bad for Walt. The trailer seems to have teased the possibility of him and Vic becoming a couple.

The teaser showed Vic, who felt the need to clarify to Walt that she and Eamon (Josh Cooke) are not dating. Whether or not this will lead to something else remains to be seen.

"Longmire" season 5 premieres Friday, Sept. 23 on Netflix.
