"LEGO City Undercover" was first released back in 2013 for the Nintendo Wii U only. Now, the block-based game will become available to other platforms come next spring.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, one of its publishers, recently announced that the sandbox style action-adventure game developed by TT Fusion would soon become available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch. This was after more than three years of being exclusive to Nintendo's Wii U.

"Join the Chase! LEGO CITY Undercover is looking for new recruits on PlayStation®4, Xbox One®, Nintendo Switch™ and STEAM® in Spring 2017," a post on the WB Games Twitter account read.

Excited fans immediately threw in many questions on a similar post from LEGO's Twitter account. There are many questions that remain unanswered, and the company simply stated that more information will be provided within the next few months. However, one thing is for sure for the upcoming game, it is both a "re-release" and a "remastered" version.

"LEGO City Undercover" puts the players in the shoes of Chase McCain, an undercover detective. McCain's only objective is to bring down the biggest crime boss, Rex Furry. Players can let McCain swing across the poles and perform wall jumps. Additional disguises are also available that will allow the protagonist to gain additional abilities. There are also drivable cars and flyable helicopters, and the game is considered as a parody of several classic police movies. Some fans even compare the game to the "Grand Theft Auto" series.

Being a Wii U exclusive gave the game the option to use Nintendo propriety items, like the Lego Super Mario warp pipe. There is a big chance that this feature will not be available on other platforms except in the Nintendo Switch version. The GamePad mechanics, which allows the use of the portable game device's controller as a communicator and scanner, could be taken out as well.

"LEGO City Undercover" will be available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC in spring 2017.
