The last official announcement about "Left 4 Dead 3" was made five years ago.  Sadly for fans, there are still no recent updates about the game's overall development or a possible release date. According to "Counter Strike" co-creator Minh Le, who also worked with the team behind "Left 4 Dead," he has deemed it better to not "reveal anything at this moment."

Although there had been speculations this year that "Left 4 Dead 3" will be unveiled alongside "Half-Life 3" and "Portal 3," such rumors have not been confirmed by the games' developers.

One thing holds true, though. American video game developer Turtle Rock, who is responsible for the creation of the multi-player action game, has made the decision to move on a different path and end their partnership with Valve Corporations, another video game development company responsible for coming up with "Left 4 Dead."

As such, with hard-hitting news for the game's avid fans, it has become a question whether "Left 4 Dead 3" will still be in the works, and whether the world will have to wait for a longer time to catch a glimpse of what they hope to be an upcoming installment.

According to Phil Robb of Turtle Rock, the company is now setting their sights on developing "Evolve," a new competitive shooter game to be published by 2K Games. Robb explained that the game is expected to appeal to "Left 4 Dead" fans, especially with the need for a cooperative approach to go through it.

At present, Turtle Rock has asserted that they have completed the "Left 4 Dead" franchise, although there had been no more comments about a "Left 4 Dead 3."

"Left 4 Dead" rose to fame with its post-apocalyptic settings and emphasis on four main characters, known as the "Survivors," who battle it out with the infected. With several game modes and an overall dynamic experience, the "Left 4 Dead" games have already been positively received by gamers and the media alike.
