'Kingdom Hearts 3' release date: Upcoming game rumored to be last in the series and have massive storyline

"Kingdom Hearts" series fans will truly enjoy the upcoming installment for it will open to a massive story. Unfortunately, it is rumored that it will also conclude the franchise.

The Japanese magazine Famitsu was lucky enough to have a conversation with "Kingdom Heart 3" game director Tetsuya Nomura. During the interview, Nomura shared how huge the story of the upcoming game is. It is "overwhelmingly big," he said, noting that he might have some issue with how to present it properly to the fans, Gamepur reported.

Nomura said, "It's not that I've spread the story out, perhaps it's more that I've separated the parts that would have ruined [Kingdom Hearts 3's] tempo if they were told then. In fact, [Kingdom Hearts 3] is overwhelmingly big, so it's not that content has been shaved off, and it's something I've worried over how to handle."

The game director then explained that he shortened the introduction portion of the upcoming game. He is aware that gamers, as well as he himself, do not want to listen to long explanations. They want to get into the game right away and explore it.

"Because of that, maybe people will be like, "why is Sora here?", feeling like [Kingdom Hearts 3] begins comparatively abruptly. Of course, if you keep playing, you'll work out the minimum about the situation," he added.

Meanwhile, fans are also aware that the upcoming game is the final chapter in the Dark Seeker saga, the end of Sora's journey, and is now believed to be the last game of the series. But there are also rumors that Square Enix, the game developer, will still create "Kingdom Hearts" games. Yibada added that co-director Tai Yasue hinted that a collection is poised to arrive for the PlayStation 4.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" will be released in three parts, as announced early on, because of its huge content. However, no release date has been announced so far, but is speculated to be released sometime in 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
