Players of the hit video game "Kingdom Hearts 3" have been waiting for the release of the game, and it seems that game publisher Square Enix does not have announcement regarding the date yet.
But fans are hopeful, now that reports are circulating that the date could be announced this year.
iDigitalTimes reported, citing Gematsu, that more information about "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be revealed when Disney's D23 event takes place next month in Tokyo, Japan.
In an interview with game director Tetsuya Nomura, translated by Gematsu and appearing in Japan's Dengeki PlayStation magazine, it was mentioned that fresh information on "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be announced.
Other than that, nothing else has been given away, but hopefuls are optimistic that they will finally have a date to mark on the calendar.
However, iDigitalTimes noted that the announcement could possibly be only related to a new world that will be featured in the game.
In the last D23 event back in August, the only big announcement was that "Big Hero 6" world will be introduced to the game.
With that in place, that makes only two new confirmed Disney worlds up to this point — "Big Hero 6" and "Tangled."
However, there could be more worlds introduced; some game fans even made a list of animated flicks that would go well with the game.
For instance, Movie Pilot reported that the game should consider adding "The Fox and The Hound" and "Toy Story" worlds. These worlds may not have been confirmed by the game production, but having them would be fitting since both films tell tales about adventure and friendship, just like "Big Hero 6."
Fans will just have to wait for Square Enix's announcement next month at the D23 Expo Japan 2015, which will run from Nov. 6 to 8. A fan event for "Kingdom Hearts" will be staged on Nov. 3.
"Kingdom Hearts 3" is a role-playing game expected to be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and personal computer (PC).
