John Cena WWE news 2015: Who is next for the U.S. champion?

John Cena finally got back his U.S. title from Seth Rollins at World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Night of Champions so expect a whole new WWE storyline for the 15-time WWE heavyweight champion.

It isn't clear for now what is in store for Cena, although a lot of that could probably be answered as the WWE progresses with its shows.

Cena did have a rematch with Rollins, but seeing this go beyond that certainly seems unclear. So who else could step up to the plate and make a serious case at the U.S. title?

Three names come into mind: Cesaro, Sheamus and Daniel Bryan.

Cesaro has been given the push lately after venturing out in singles competition since his tag partner (Tyson Kidd) went down to injury. He has been impressive, although seemingly still a bit rough on the edges. He has gained quite a following but an ultimate icing to his run would be a championship reign.

That is unless he continues his feud with Kevin Owens and makes a run at the newly crowned Intercontinental title. But with Ryback still around, that could take some time.

Sheamus is possible but then again, why would the Celtic Warrior feast his eyes on the U.S. title if he can easily lurk and prey on Seth Rollins when the timing is right? Then again, he could target both the U.S. title and the WWE heavyweight title which doesn't seem far-fetched.

Daniel Bryan has long been out of the WWE scene, although a return could happen at any time. It would be fitting for Bryan to pursue the U.S. title, although he could be the last resort given his actual state.

Aside from the three and looking at the WWE locker room, there are other names who could challenge Cena at some point. That includes the Big Show, the Miz, Dolph Ziggler, or even Rusev again.

Whoever it is, he will be someone not tied up with any WWE storyline. Any wild guesses?
