Marvel's drunken but compassionate and "gifted" private investigator Jessica Jones (played by Krysten Ritter) definitely has a lot of spunk taking down the psychopathic, mind-controlling Kilgrave (David Tennant) on her own during the first season of "Jessica Jones." However, as fans wait for Netflix to begin production on the second season of the Marvel superhero series, new reports indicate that Jessica may get a little help from a few other Marvel heroes.

According to a report by University Herald, rumors have begun to spread that the Harlem detective Misty Knight (Simone Missick) may end up working together with Jessica when "Jessica Jones" begins its second season on Netflix.

Marvel's fans may recognize Misty from the newly released Netflix series "Luke Cage" where the detective played the part of Luke Cage's (Mike Colter) short term love interest. Before that, Cage had actually been Jessica's lover in the first season of "Jessica Jones."

Rumors that Misty and Jessica working together spun from a report by Coming Soon that announced that production of the Netflix Marvel superhero mash-up series, "The Defenders," has just begun production. In the report, the publication released a few interesting pictures from the series' season 1 set. In the first batch of "The Defenders" season 1 set photos, fans get to see Jessica in a stand-off with Misty on the streets of Hell's Kitchen.

Aside from excitement of seeing Luke's two lovers working together, Marvel fans are also excited to see whether the two would realize their connection to Luke and whether Luke would start fixing things with Jessica. Given Misty's past, many wonder whether it would be possible for Misty to become Jessica's partner in season 2 of "Jessica Jones." Misty's rumored addition to the series has been considered a good move for Marvel, as after all, "Jessica Jones" is strong on women empowerment.

"Jessica Jones" season 2 is slated to air sometime in 2018.
