"Grease Live!" premieres on Jan. 31. FOX/Grease Live Official Facebook Page

2015 was a great year for television. And now that it's December, most of the fans' favorite shows have taken a leave of absence from the small screen. But there's no need to worry, because the winter hiatus is only normal.

2016 however looks like it's going to be a good year. Come January, tons of shows will be making their way back on air, with some making their television debut for the first time! Get ready to stay indoors for most of January, because there are shows premiering almost every day.

Prepare to say goodbye to shows that are in their final season, including "American Idol" and "Downton Abbey." These long-running shows will surely be missed.

But don't fret for there are plenty of new shows fans can enjoy. The CW's "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" and NBC's "Shades of Blue" are only two of the new shows viewers are looking forward to in the new year.
