In a couple of months from now, a new season of "House of Cards" will premiere on Netflix. Fans are already excited to see what happens in the life of Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) knowing that he has decided to run for president the second time.
In the last season of the Netflix political drama series, Frank's wife, Claire, played by Robin Wright, declared that she wanted to leave her husband. According to PopSugar, season 4 is expected to focus more on the couple's troubled marriage.
Claire may be out of Frank's life the last time fans saw them, but the presidential candidate has gained back his right-hand man, Doug (Michael Kelly). Before Doug came back to the White House, it is speculated that Frank will lose the presidential race. But with Doug back, it is expected that the candidate will succeed.
But will Frank win the elections if he would face Claire as his rival? There have been reports stating that the estranged couple will become rivals in the elections.
Then again, PopSugar also mentioned that Frank and Claire will be working together, especially with the arrival of a new couple. The couple would serve as their competition, and they would have no choice but to work together if they want to pull down a common enemy.
Will the other half of the new couple be Neve Campbell? The "The Craft" actress has joined the show and rumors suggest that she might be one of Frank's new rivals. That has yet to be confirmed since Campbell's character still has no description.
Season 3 of "House of Cards" has been an emotional journey for the Underwoods that fans loved to watch. Showrunner Beau Willimon told E! Online that the production took some risks with season 3's plot.
While many fans enjoyed the whole emotional story of the Underwoods in the previous seasons, some were disappointed that they were not featured as the tough, victorious power couple that they are.
Fans may have divided opinions about the show, but it's up to the "House of Cards" team to have the final say on the plot.
"We don't want to pander or cater an upcoming season based purely on fan responses. But I am interested in what they have to say and I think it's great we can talk to each other," Willimon told E!
