'Homeland' season 5 episode 11 spoilers, plot rumors: Carrie risks Quinn's life to save Berlin

"Homeland" season 5 episode 11 will premiere on Dec. 13. Homeland/Official Facebook Page

The previous episode of "Homeland" saw the reunion of Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes), Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) and Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) after the threat of a sarin gas attack.

Unfortunately, the final shot left fans heartbroken as Carrie and Saul looked upon a hospitalized Quinn, who has information that could possibly hinder a terrorist attack on Berlin.

It just keeps getting better and viewers are on edge about what is going to happen next.

The promo video (seen below) for next week's episode 11 of the political thriller is anything but boring. Quinn is still confined in the hospital and there are severe risks should he be woken up. The action of doing so might cause massive seizures, cerebral hemorrhage, and worst of all, death.

Carrie is faced with a choice to make: does she risk the life of Quinn, someone she cares about, in order to save the lives of many or face dire consequences by letting him be?

It's a classic dilemma.

But based on the clip, it looks like she makes her choice, as she can be seen waking Quinn up and asking for the information she needs. But she doesn't get her away and Quinn coughs up blood, which has everyone in a panic. She might have just done something that will put his life in extreme danger.

"Homeland" was developed by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa and is based on an Israeli series titled "Hatufim" (translated as "Prisoners of War") created by Gideon Raff.

The series follows Carrie, an ex-officer for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), who suffers from bipolar disorder, as she works for a philanthropic foundation in Berlin. Season 5 has incorporated many real world issues into its plot, including ISIS, Vladimir Putin, Bashar al-Assad, the Charlie Hebdo shooting and Edward Snowden.

"Homeland" season 5 episode 11 titled "The Man in Damascus" will hit the airwaves on Sunday, Dec. 13 on Showtime.
