Game fans can now listen to two of "Halo Wars 2" soundtrack via Soundcloud. Developer 343 Industries wanted the fans to feel the intense battle that will arrive with the real-time strategy game in February 2017.
Xbox Wire shared two of the works of the composers Gordy Haab and Finishing Move (comprised of Brian Lee White and Brian Trifon), together with the game's audio director Paul Lipson. The group also shared their creative approach to finding the right music for the "large-scale battles, expansive lore and intense multiplayer battles" that will soon be experienced by the fans.
Gordy Haab and Finishing Move started their work by studying closely the early design, documents, story arc and scripts of the game. They also tried to see the concept arts and the early screen captures in order to visualize what the game wants to convey to its players. These materials gave them the general idea of the style of the music and the instruments to be used. They also took into consideration the musical scores of the previous game, which allowed them to insert some of their characteristics, but at the same time expand it for the upcoming game.
Paul Lipson added that he is there to provide guidance to Gordy and the Finishing Move team to achieve what the developer wants to obtain with its accompanying music. He also added that the corroboration with these talented people, no doubt, led to an enjoyable process and a brand-new musical score.
The team hopes that gamers will experience the same joy that these compositions have brought them.
"Halo Wars 2" is described as: "After decades adrift and declared 'lost with all hands,' the brave crew of the UNSC Spirit of Fire are mysteriously awoken above an ancient Forerunner haven known as the Ark. In 'Halo Wars 2,' Captain Cutter and his crew will face one of humanity's most formidable threats yet: The Banished – a fierce and powerful Brute faction led by a cunning and lethal warrior known as Atriox."
Its single-player campaign will include The Return of the Spirit of Fire, The Dawn of Atriox, The Biggest Halo Battlefield Ever, and A New Kind of Strategy. Its multiplayer maps will include Skirmish, Strongholds, Domination, Deathmatch, and Blitz.
"Halo Wars 2" is slated to be released on February 21, 2017 for the Xbox One and Windows PC.
