Developer 343 Industries has announced that the "Halo 5:Guardians" map-creating tool called Forge will be arriving on Windows 10 later this year, but it does not mean that the Xbox One-exclusive shooter will be arriving on the PC as well. The company also made some changes to the "Hog Wild" update that is set to be released by the end of this month.

The game studio announced last week that fans will be able to continue to create beautiful "Halo 5: Guardians" maps on PCs loaded with Windows 10 before the end of the year. Doing this will allow the continuation of several great gaming experiences brought about by user-created maps. Forge started way back in 2007, during "Halo 3."

343 Industries said, "Today, we're excited to announce that we're bring this same spirit of creation and collaboration to the PC later this year with Forge – Halo 5: Guardians Edition for Windows 10. Best of all? It will be absolutely free. In addition to the evolutions already present in the mode on Xbox One, Forge – Halo 5: Guardians Edition for Windows 10 will include some exciting new features designed specifically with PC users in mind."

The following will be included in the upcoming version of Forge, as mentioned in the post:

  • Keyboard & Mouse Support
  • Increased Resolution
  • Test and Play with Friends
  • Build on Windows 10 and Publish to Xbox One

Now, since "Halo 5: Guardians" will not make it to the PC, fans can instead focus their attention on the upcoming "Halo Wars 2," which will land on Windows 10 and Xbox One. "Halo Wars 2" is being developed by Creative Assembly, and is a face-paced strategy game.  It is speculated to be released during the third or fourth quarter of the year, Gamespot reported.

For the meantime, "Halo 5: Guardians" players can expect the "Hog Wild" update to land on the Xbox One before June comes in. The studio announced last week that all lights are green for the next add-on, though not according to the original plan. The highly anticipated PvE mode will not make it this time. It still needs some polishing and will be included in next month's update.
