'Halo 5: Guardians' release news: Powerful engine, consistent 60 fps graphic run

 343 Studios

There are a ton of newfangled things to be excited about when it comes to "Halo 5: Guardians." Developer 343 Industries outlined all these in a new Halo Waypoint blog post. It starts with the engine, which made more ambitious features possible in the game.

In the post, the game studio's Josh Holmes revealed that the upcoming shooter made use of a "new physically based rendering system," which should make the lighting and the backdrop of the game almost life-like. He added that the impressive look and renderings of the aliens in the game are all thanks to the engine.

But Holmes seems to be prouder of the fact that "Halo 5: Guardians" will run 60 frames per second across all modes, which turns out to be something 343 Industries worked very hard to achieve. That means that from the cinematic footages down to the full-on battles, the game will look excellent.

"Framerate is king for us on 'Halo 5.' Gameplay is defined by the way that players experience the game from controller to screen," Holmes wrote. "We want the connection between you and the game to feel seamless and instantaneous. From the beginning, we set ourselves the goal of delivering consistent 60 frames per second gameplay across all modes of play."

He further explained, "Delivering on this goal meant re-engineering the gameplay systems at the core of our engine. It required sustained commitment from the entire team as we continually optimized the experience, and the difference it makes to the play experience is immediate and obvious."

"Halo 5: Guardians" is one of the most anticipated games this year. It was two years ago when the first-person shooter video game was announced and now, it is close to being the best-looking and most mind-blowing video game of 2015. The title will be released on Oct. 27, with missions set in diverse environments such as arctic landscapes, galaxies and rainforests.
