Zombie apocalypse fans would have their hearts broken, as rumors begin to emerge about the delay in the release date for the PS4 edition of the upcoming "H1Z1" game for another year.

The initial reports said that the PC and PS4 editions of the zombie survival video game from Sony Online Entertainment will be released this fall. However, new developments say that only the PC version will come out this year.

The developer released an official statement about it, saying that while they are working on it, the PS4 edition is still under development.  The statement by Sony Online Entertainment President John Smedley reads, a quoted by Franchise Herald:

Though Sony Online Entertainment has stated multiple times already that they were planning on bringing it to the PlayStation 4. Today, the studio confirmed that that will indeed be the case. We're SONY Online, so we have a certain level of quality we like to achieve before putting a game out. And the fact is it doesn't go out until we are happy with it."

Smedley further added that the much awaited post-apocalyptic game will come out on PC edition first, which is likely to happen later this year.

Earlier reports mentioned that Sony Online Entertainment could probably add a real-cash supply-drop purchase option in the game. This could mean that players could buy useful items and get them via airdrops.

The game's senior designer, Jimmy Whisenhunt, told the media during the PAX Prime event in Seattle last September that they are seriously considering the airdrop inclusion.

"One of the things we're looking at is selling airdrops. We don't want to mess with the hardcore survival aspects, but ... once you order one, it spawns into the world. Players see the C130 spawn into the world, so you're giving other players the opportunity to jack your stuff," he said.

However, this option can also be a problem for players, since one wrong move can point their whereabouts to their opponents, and an airdropped purchase can easily give their hiding place right away.
