When the makers of "Gravity Rush 2" announced last October that the launch date of the game will be delayed, avid fans of the original Vita title were displeased. However, looking at where the delay took the development shows the wait is going to be well worth it.

A few days ago, PlayStation Japan has released a fifth clip showing the latest archived version of gameplay that was aired in a live stream earlier this month. Gematsu was able to compile all five live stream archives for the fans' enjoyment.

The clip shows around seven minutes of gameplay footage where Kat, the main protagonist of the title, plays a race-like mini-game. Kat is seen using the original gravity manipulation style to breeze through the course. The environment also reacts well to Kat, with wooden boxes breaking and flying when she dashes into them as well as water splashes at the end of the track.

Earlier this month, game director Toyama Keiichiro has announced that the game is ready for production and that the delay has been used well to improve aspects of the game. He also shared another gameplay video clip in his tweet where Kat's body reacts well to the flight and freefall of the environment.

Indeed, the players are in for a real treat once the game rolls out on the market early next year. In a PlayStation blog post, Keiichiro explained the launch had to be delayed to perfect all details of the game. They have also decided to give out the premium DLC free of charge, which adds an additional story to the plot. Other unannounced plans are also underway, which players can expect before the release date.

"Gravity Rush 2" is a sequel to the successful Vita title "Gravity Rush," where the player controls Kat, a gravity-manipulating heroine. Aside from her original skill from the first game, she now has Lunar and Jupiter style, wherein Lunar style makes her lighter and faster, while Jupiter style makes her heavier, which will be ideal for attacks, Game Reactor has learned.

The sequel revolves around the protagonist, Kat, and her origin will be revealed in what is slated to be her final journey. With the assistance of the AI-controlled Raven, she defends the world from beings who wish to threaten the very fabric of the universe.

"Gravity Rush 2" makes a free fall into PlayStation 4 platforms on Jan. 20, 2017.
