'Girl Meets World' season 4 air date, spoilers, latest news: renewal for another season still not confirmed by Disney

A still from "Girl Meets World" The Disney Channel

There are only a few more episodes before "Girl Meet World" ends its third season, and Disney Channel remains mum if they will have a fourth season. There are rumors that the current season will be the last, but hopes are still high that there will be another one next year.

Since the show will still be airing until early next year, fans are a bit confident that Disney will be able to arrive at a decision that will be favorable to them. They are also prepared if it goes the other way, a petition has been started several months ago and has already gained more than 50,000 supporters, to convince the network to let the show have another season or move it to Freeform.

However, the followers of the television series were stunned when the Girl Meets writers posted on Twitter the titles of the upcoming episodes. Fans were surprised to see the last episode of the season, "Goodbye," which could be the writers' way of saying farewell to its viewing audience.

"Next: Mortimer Twigglebottom Smythe December: A Christmas Maya Carol January: World Meets Girl, Sweet 16, Goodbye," the post said.

Previously, it was rumored that Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter, who plays as Riley and Maya, are just faking their relationship, for the show. Behind the cameras, it is a totally different world. This was said to be one of the concerns of the network executives and also said to be hindering the extension of the series for another season. It has already been debunked by Carpenter a few months back, but the rumor is still persistent up until now.

She defended Blanchard against the accusations to Seventeen Magazine. Carpenter stated, "I don't understand why that's the motive for people. It's so much easier, I guess, to spread hate. I think the most important thing is that we all know we love each other. And everyone within our set is a family. We trust each other. And if there's anything going on... you work it out."

She also added, " We're with each other on our good days and our bad days and it's really nice to know that you have people that understand, especially in this industry, what you're going through... We're all just accepting."

"Girl Meets World" season 4, if there will be one, will be back by the middle of next year, but for the meantime, season 3's episode 17 will air on Nov. 18 on the Disney Channel.
