"Final Fantasy XV" will not be able to make it on its original release date, which is Sept. 30. It was moved back for two months, to Nov. 29.
The 15th main installment in the "Final Fantasy" series suffered a huge setback when game director Hajime Tabata decided to change the plan so every fan will have a great gaming experience once it gets released. It was supposed to have a huge day-one patch, but gamers who do not have an internet connection will not be able to truly enjoy the game. Thus it was decided to include everything before it hits the shelves.
Tabata said during an interview by IGN, "Originally I was thinking it would be okay and we could put all of the extra updates into a day-one patch, but at that point I learned there are maybe a lot of people out there who play in an offline environment and don't have internet. When I found that out, thinking about it again, I'm glad I didn't make that decision."
He then added, "It would take about one month exactly to fit everything we wanted in the day one patch into the disc version... one more month to polish everything up and get it really great. And that's why it was two months."
Game developer Square Enix also presented a short demo of "Final Fantasy XV" during the recently concluded Gamescom 2016. It featured Noctis and his crew starting on the journey to bring back the crowned prince of Lucis to Lunafreya. Unfortunately, their car broke down and eventually they met Cid and Cindy, the mechanics. The repair will take some time so the gang could kill the time by completing a couple of quests, WCCFTech reported.
The mini adventures will also allow the players to get familiar with the different things about the game -- its menu system, battle system, its new magic system and a few more. A powerful boss at the end of the side quest will test out the party's ability to work together.
"Final Fantasy XV" will be released worldwide on Nov. 29 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Several editions are also available and ready for pre-order on the Square Enix online store.
