Although Bethesda has already expanded the mods feature of "Fallout 4," this option is available as full version only for the Xbox One and PC. PS4 players are still waiting for confirmed details on the feature. Reportedly, PS4 fans will have to wait a bit longer as the mods feature will go live for the console after the release of the final DLC for the game.
It is already confirmed that a new expansion content is on its way for "Fallout 4" players. The "Nuka-World" DLC is slated to release on August 30 for the platforms. Meanwhile, since Bethesda has yet to confirm the mods feature release for the PS4, this means that Sony console players can expect the mods feature to come out much later than the DLC release.
Meanwhile, Bethesda has yet to confirm if the mods feature for the PS4 will release with a beta version first, or if the studio is waiting to launch the full feature. Reportedly, the issue with the mods feature is with the PS4 console itself, so even a test phase for the feature is still hanging in the air. Sony and Bethesda are supposedly still negotiating for the feature to be included in the PS4 version.
Allegedly, the delay has to do with how the PS4 is set up, that is why Bethesda is having a hard time adapting the mods feature to the Sony console. For the PC and the Xbox One, Microsoft has allotted third-party content for up to 2GB. However, the opposite is true for the PlayStation 4, since the console only allows up to 900MB of ported data. Since most "Fallout 4" mods need a considerable amount of memory for data, the limit is a concern for seamlessly porting the new feature in the PS4.
However, although PS4 players will have to wait longer for the mods feature, speculations suggest that Bethesda may finally roll out the option by November.
