'Fallout 4' mods PS4 updates: Bethesda to fix 3 key problems affecting mod support

 [Bethesda]

"Fallout 4" fans are hyped up with Bethesda's announcement of a private beta period for the PS4 mods. With this, the Creation Kit has been enabled, allowing PS4 mods to be ulpoaded to Bethesda.net in order to cater to this upcoming release.

While this is certainly a cause for celebration for PS4 "Fallout" players, there are a lot of issues with this game's interaction with the console, so the quality of these PS4 mods are still much lower compared to the ones on the PC and Xbox.

According to Bethesda, they will need to fix three main problems with the Update 1.5.4. The first one is about performance issues caused by mods using PC textures, which in turn causes the memory usage to go up in an unprecedented rate. The second one is mainly due to the fact that the PS4 sound is proprietary, which makes the mods' audio to stop working. In any case, these two issues are already being worked on in collaboration with Sony, so it's only a matter of time before these issues are resolved.

The final issue, however, is more complicated and much harder to fix, according to Tech Times. It might sound simple, but having a 900MB limit for the mod storage for the PS4 just wouldn't work, literally. After all, as soon as the mod surpasses this limit, it won't work no matter what.

The reasons for these aren't disclosed, but just like the first two aforementioned issues, Bethesda is also working to address this issue with Sony. Some fans speculate that the mere presence of this limit is an indication of an even larger problem the PS4 mods will face: their inferiority compared to Xbox One and the PC.

The same article states that the PS4 version of "Fallout 4" continues to be the weakest among the three platforms, which a lot of fans agree on.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
