'Fallout 4' DLC news 2016: Survival Mode to change with 'Automatron' DLC

Bethesda has given out general details on the different expansion content that fans can expect for "Fallout 4." Aside from adding content, however, it seems that the studio is also keen to tweak and improve the current gameplay and features of the game. According to new details, one of the things that will change with the DLC is the game's Survival Mode.

In the DLC announcement on the Bethesda website, the developer outlined the three DLC packs that will come out for "Fallout 4." The first of these, the "Automatron" pack, will roll out next month and add a number of missions pitting players against the Mechanic and his army of robots. One unique feature of the DLC will be unlocking the Robot modification option for players, where the character can build his own robot partner from the parts of the enemies.

Meanwhile, the post also highlighted the updates that will eventually roll out to "Fallout 4," with the release starting with the "Automatron" DLC. An upcoming update is bound to improve the Survival Mode gameplay for the title, and the announcement stated, "And something that we're really excited about, a complete overhaul of Survival Mode that changes how you play the whole game: food, sleep, diseases, danger and more."

According to N4BB, with the introduction of character factors in Survival Mode, the gameplay will look more like the Hardcore Mode in "Fallout: New Vegas," where aside from surviving hordes of enemies, players must constantly monitor the character's health, sleep, hunger, and thirst.

Aside from "Automatron," there are two additional expansion packs scheduled to roll out this year to "Fallout 4," and each expansion will release monthly. After "Automatron" releases next month, fans will see the "Wasteland Workshop" DLC in April, and "Far Harbor" in May. The three DLC packs are part of the game's Season Pass and can also be purchased separately.
