Bandai Namco has announced that "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2", the most awaited sequel to last year's "Dragon Ball" game, will be released sometime this 2016.
In a trailer video released by Bandai Namco, it is revealed that the game will be released on all major platforms such as the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the PC through Steam. However, this will only be the case for North American players since the Japanese release will only be available on the PlayStation 4.
The official announcement trailer was made after the countdown timer on a teaser website was finished. This website was made by Bandai Namco and Toei Animation studio which served as a teaser site for the upcoming game, counting down until the confirmed announcement of the "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2." Now this website's purpose is done, it is now going to redirect everyone to the official website for the game.
According to Vine Report, this sequel will still use the mechanics from its predecessor, which will allow players to influence the events within the "Dragon Ball" timeline as they see fit. They can either choose to relive it from their memory or get an entirely different ending for it.
The first "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" game was developed by Dimps using the mechanics from "Dragon Ball Online". Players were basically members of the Time Patrol, and they're called Future Warriors. They are given a lot of customization options, which include a variety of races to choose from. Players can choose to become Saiyans, Majins, Namekians or Earthlings.
Each of these races has its own strengths -- Saiyans have more offensive capabilities, Majins are more robust, Namekians are tougher, and Earthlings have a more balanced build. Players are able to interact with each other to ensure that the timeline is saved.
With this, it's likely that "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will use the same mechanic.
