David Leitch, known for his work on "John Wick," will now take the helm for "Deadpool 2." Fox confirmed the news recently after Tim Miller reportedly dropped out of the movie over creative differences with Ryan Reynolds.

According to Variety, the movie outfit has finally solved its dilemma to the sequel to the surprise hit. "Deadpool 2" is already in production when Miller decided to leave last October, leaving everything hanging.

Leitch is the co-director of the Keanu Reeves starrer but is not the first time to work with Reynolds. The two already crossed paths during "X-men Origins: Wolverine," where Reynolds' character was introduced, Deadpool.

It was in April that Fox announced the sequel to their $782.6 million box office hit. The movie is the highest-grossing R-rated movie in history with a budget that is only $58 million.

It is also speculated that a third installment of the franchise is already on the drawing board, and it could bring together the strike team called the X-Force. It is also rumored that the next project will not feature the characters of Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, and Michael Fassbender, although they are not totally out of the master plan. Fox has not confirmed any of these as of this writing.

Many members of the creative team are said to be back in "Deadpool 2." Stacey Snider, Fox's CEO, also confirmed earlier that screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese are still part of the team, and they will take care of the script. The sequel is due to start shooting in early 2017.

Previously, The Wrap reported that Reynolds and Miller had different visions for the upcoming movie. Miller wanted the next movie to be an extravagant super-hero film, while Reynolds, Wernick, and Reese wanted to continue what they have started on the first film, depicting Deadpool's "scrappy" roots, not to mention an inexpensive one.

No release date has been set for "Deadpool 2," but is speculated to hit the big screen in early 2018.
