'Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel' DLC release news: Upcoming DLC to open new world; features new armor, weapons, and magic

"Dark Souls 3" will soon receive its first downloadable content (DLC) called "Ashes of Ariandel." It will be the first of two, and will bring in a new world to explore, paired with challenges and enemies. Armors, weapons, and magic will also arrive on Oct. 25.

The upcoming expansion pack is set to bring players to the frozen land of Ariandel. There, they will face numerous evil forces that have corrupted the area, and they will be able to uncover the truth why the place turned into ashes.

"Ashen Ones... Enter this new world covered by snow and defeat the evil that has defiled this land. Grab ahold of the new armor sets, weapons, and magic that are available in 'Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel' to aid you in discovering the new location. For the veterans of Dark Souls PVP, explore the new features and test your meddle with your fellow players," the official trailer narrates, highlighting new features that will come with the DLC.

Aside from numerous challenges and a new boss to face, players can also expect several new things to come their way. "Ashes of Ariandel" will bring in several new armor sets, weapons, and additional magical skills that will be effective during combat. The multiplayer mode will also have access to the new add-ons of the game.

The trailer showed a brave wandering hero who is venturing into the frozen land. Little did he know that dark creatures await him beyond the blizzard. After a while, the footage showed that a fight ensues immediately the warrior and a heavily armored giant enemy. It also featured the potential creatures that the player would be up against including armed skeletons, ferocious wolves, then several more magical creatures.

"Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel" will be available on Oct. 25 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. It is now available for pre-order, and it will cost $14.99, while the season pass will cost a player $24.99.
