'Daredevil' season 3 air date, spoilers, news: Charlie Cox pushes for Bullseye's introduction

Charlie Cox as the titular role in "Daredevil" Netflix

Matt Murdock may be joining an ensemble team in the near future via "The Defenders," but he is also tipped to return to his own standalone series "Daredevil" for season 3. While its arrival may take a while, actor Charlie Cox who brings life to the lawyer by day, superhero at night is already set on the villain he wants to go head-to-head with.

Talking at a panel during Wizard World Pittsburgh earlier this month, the 33-year-old was very forthcoming about wanting Bullseye to eventually be introduced in Daredevil's world.

"It's no secret, I've said it before and I get in trouble every time I say it, I'd like to see Bullseye make an appearance at some point. I think it's a really interesting opportunity," he said. "Deborah Ann Woll obviously does not want Bullseye to show up for obvious reasons. Élodie Yung, who plays Elektra, doesn't want Bullseye to show up either."

In the comic books, the character is known to be one of the most prominent antagonists for Daredevil. Despite not having any superpowers, his ability to always hit his desired mark makes him a great assassin. His psychopathic tendencies and personal vendetta against Daredevil make him very interesting. Furthermore, the two's multiple entanglements that are more like fighting rounds gives a whole new dynamic to the hero vs. anti-hero narrative.

The last time fans saw Bullseye in the flesh was in Ben Affleck's take on Daredevil where Colin Farrell played the Marvel villain. It would be quite fascinating to find out how Marvel Television is planning to treat the character as "Daredevil" is known for bringing in worthy opponents such as Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) and The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) in its past two seasons.

Meanwhile, before Matt can return to his own little pocket in Hell's Kitchen and supposedly face Bullseye, he will come across other crime-fighting people in Netflix's Marvel universe. The team will include Luke Cage (Mike Colter), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) and the soon to be debuted Iron Fist played by Finn Jones. Together, a cumulative team called the Defenders will come to Netflix sometime late in 2017.
