'Dancing with the Stars' season 22 cast update: Mischa Barton and Ginger Zee to vie for Mirror Ball trophy

After reports confirmed that Jodie Sweetin, Nyle DiMarco and Kim Fields will join "Dancing with the Stars" season 22, two new names have been added to the roster of celebrities who will compete on the dance floor this season.

Entertainment Tonight exclusively reported that Mischa Barton, who portrayed the role of Marissa Cooper in "The O.C.," and "Good Morning America" meteorologist Ginger Zee were both tapped to compete in the "Dancing with the Stars" season 22.

The report mentioned that Barton will be paired with Artem Chigvintsev, while Zee will dance with Val Chmerkovskiy during the competition.

Meanwhile, Sweetin already personally confirmed her participation in the celebrity dance competition during her Tuesday guesting on "Good Morning America" and revealed that she already met with her dance partner Keo Motsepe twice.

In related news, the Hough siblings will be missed on the dance floor this season. Julianne Hough is confirmed to be leaving the judges' panel this year, while her brother Derek will not be competing as a dance pro after his sixth Mirror Ball trophy, which he earned with celebrity partner Bindi Irwin in season 21.

Derek will be busy in his upcoming Broadway appearance in the "Singing in the Rain" with The Weinstein Company, while Julianne seems to have a lot in store this year.

During the Vanity Fair musical in February, Derek opened up about his sister's departure from the "Dancing with the Stars" judges' panel.

"I think she did three great seasons, and it's time for her to go," the dancer-actor explained. "She's got great things on the horizon, and she's doing great things. Len [Goodman]'s coming back, and so, you know, I think four judges feels a little redundant anyways, so I think it's the right thing to do."

The other celebrities who will join "Dancing with the Stars" season 22 will be revealed on "Good Morning America" on Tuesday, March 8.
