Fan favorite Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) will return as a guest star on action series "Criminal Minds" season 13.

Morgan will be back for the season's fifth episode titled "Lucky Strikes" to assist a Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) member who is very close to his heart. In the episode airing on Oct, 25, Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness), who Morgan fondly called "Baby Girl" in the series, will have to deal with a case that needs Morgan's expertise. Of course, he would not be able to resist.

Morgan, who was a member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's BAU from 2005 to 2016, was last seen during the season 12 finale. It was the first time he returned after a narrow escape from kidnappers, which pushed him to leave the bureau to keep his family and newborn son safe.

It was to his many fans' delight that actor Moore, who now plays Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson on CBS's "S.W.A.T.," would once again return to "Critical Minds." Now many are wondering if there is a chance he would come back for a longer time in the future.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight back in March, Moore clarified that although he is moving to a different show, he is not closing his doors on the team he worked with for 11 years. "In my heart, I'm open to that... But there's a thing called the business of Hollywood, so there's a lot of politics and there's a lot of important, fancy people that make those decisions," he said.

There is no further news whether Morgan will have another appearance at the show but his words do give fans some hope that they will see him with the BAU again.

With one week to go before his return, BAU will first have to look into a shooting at a Silicon Valley workplace committed by a drone in the episode titled "Killer App."

Catch "Criminal Minds" every Wednesday at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
