'Civilization VI' game news: Best Black Friday deals out; Firaxis releases new patch

It looks like "Civilization" gamers are getting a pretty swell "Civilization VI" deal this Black Friday.

According to a report by Destructoid, strategy gamers are going to get the best "Civilization VI" promo this Black Friday at Green Man Gaming. The game just got a 27 percent discount on the site and now gamers who simply can't wait for the $40 plus tax Black Friday deal from GameStop can make do with the promo offer from the gaming site. Gamers might also be interested in the extra content and map of the game's Digital Deluxe Edition which has also gotten a 28 percent discount on the site as well, its price dropping down to $57.59.

On Steam, "Civilization VI" has just dropped down from its original price of $60 to $43.91 while the "Civilization VI Digital Deluxe" edition has dropped down from $80 to $57.59. Meanwhile, on Best Buy, the game now comes at a solid $45. Gamers with gift certificate units (GCU) are advised to wait for Best Buy's offer since they'll bring down the game's price by another 20 percent.

While the Black Friday mark downs from multiple sites may be a cause for celebration for gamers, those interested in purchasing "Civilzation VI" better hurry because not only will the deals expire Tuesday next week, Nov. 29, but the title can get sold out before gamers get a chance to get a copy.

In other "Civilization VI" news, Digital Trends reports that Firaxis has just issued a patch for the studio's newest "Civilization" videogame installment, and it looks like the update brings in great new content to the game.

Introducing DirectX 12 support, the new "Civilization VI" update offers two new map types: the Six-Armed Snowflake and the Four-Leaf Clover. These maps have been respectively balanced for their equivalent number of players and have been designed to encourage conflict between civilizations.

There's also a new scenario for the game's multiplayer as well called Cavalry and Cannonades which focuses on combat in "Civilization VI."
