This coming week's episode of "Castle" season 8 will see the mystery writer put himself in loads of trouble. Titled "Cool Boys," the installment sees Castle cross paths with Detective Slaughter once more. Breaking his promise about not working with him again, Castle finds himself in a bit of a quandary.

A sneak peek of the episode shows that either Castle is out of his mind or he is just bold enough to put his own self and his career in danger just to prove Slaughter's innocence, which is yet to be established and something he himself doubts at some point.

After failing to convince Ryan and Esposito to set free the alleged murderer, Castle tricks the two into getting the keys for the car where they put the handcuffed suspect and quickly drives away. As vague as Slaughter's innocence is Castle's clear imminent future behind bars for what he did.

It is a surprising move for fans to see Castle work with Slaughter again knowing that the last time they teamed up for something was nightmarish for Castle. In this "Castle" season 8 episode though, Slaughter returns with intel on a high-stakes robbery case, which he wants solved with Castle's help.

When he shows up at Castle's office, he identifies himself to Castle's daughter as her dad's "old friend," which is apparently the kind that almost gets an old pal killed. Castle's reaction upon Slaughter's return was understandably more on the side of terrified than thrilled.

Nonetheless, they end up working together. But when murder ensues during the investigation, Castle's trust in Slaughter was challenged but it looks like he is ready to go through a hellish experience again just to get the guy off the hook.

"Castle" season 8 episode 6 "Cool Boys" airs Nov. 9 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
