American comic book writer and producer Stan Lee has confirmed a sequel to "Big Hero 6" earlier this year. The sequel, unanimously referred to as "Big Hero 7" by fans, has been plagued with rumors ever since, even though there has not been a lot of information about the project.

Among those rumors are ones concerning the sequel's plot. Speculations have been made that Tadashi (Daniel Henney), who seemingly died in the first film, might be back as the sequel's antagonist, Sunfire. If this turns out to be true, it will surely be hard for Hiro (Ryan Potter) to take, given the fact that they are brothers. One can only imagine the emotional toll that comes along with having to fight a sibling.

With Tadashi coming back as Sunfire, speculations are rife that "Big Hero 7" might do a crossover with the "X-Men," since Sunfire is reportedly a character from the latter.

Another rumor suggests that "Big Hero 7" will be opting for a darker tone compared to the first film's light, comedic direction, says Master Herald.

But "Big Hero 7" is reportedly not the only film that Disney has planned. Movie News Guide relays that spin-offs are highly plausible, with claims that Fredzilla (T.J. Miller) and Honey Lemon (Genesis Rodriguez) might get their own stand-alone feature films.

Honey Lemon's film will reportedly tackle the concept of good and bad science, with Madame LaRoche as her nemesis. Fredzilla's movie, on the other hand, will pick up from where the first movie left off, with Whiplash/Lancer as the main antagonist.

If these reports prove to be true, then it would seem that Disney is banking on its own, original cinematic universe, following in the footsteps of great successes like Marvel.

"Big Hero 6" was directed by Don Hall and Chris Williams. The film became a huge hit, achieving both critical and commercial success. The animated superhero comedy film grossed over $650 million in worldwide sales, according to Box Office Mojo.
