After clever fans decoded the clue about Gus Fring's (Giancarlo Esposito) possible appearance in "Better Call Saul" season 3, the viewers of the critically acclaimed "Breaking Bad" spin-off are now wondering if the drug kingpin will appear in one of the episodes of the upcoming season.

Series creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould talked about the clue about the possible return of Fring that they tried to hide within the titles of "Better Call Saul" season 2 in an interview with IGN.

Gould admitted that they underestimated the intelligence of the viewers when they opted to write the clue on the titles of season 2, but they were flattered to know that their viewers are closely watching the show.

However, when asked if Fring will definitely be back in the third season of the spin-off series that centers on the Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) before he became Saul Goodman of "Breaking Bad," Gilligan said: "I don't want to ruin anything for anyone, but speaking for myself, the fans earned this one. I'm not going to say what happens but the people figured this out on their own. I don't want to be too evasive either."

Although, in a separate interview with Digital Spy, Gould revealed that there is a good chance to see Fring play a role in season 3.

The series co-creator also mentioned that he would love to work with Esposito again. He also said that he would like to explore how the working relationship between Fring and Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) started long before the events of the original series.

"It seems tough to imagine that this Mike would ever become the man that we saw on Breaking Bad, so it'll be interesting to see what changes in Mike... and it would be fascinating to learn more about Gus Fring," Gould said.

AMC has yet to reveal the premiere date of "Better Call Saul" season 3.
