There were a lot of disappointed fans who got the news that Captain Marvel will not be among the heroes who would be appearing in the upcoming "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" movie but all is not lost.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed the non-appearance in an interview with Entertainment Weekly but gave some sort of consolation when he said that there is a secret female character appearing instead.

Although the role of the mystery female character is not that significant, he added that she will be a good character. On whether he is referring to that character to be someone familiar or a character that would be siding with the forced of good is something that is up in the air.

And so with that said, rumors and speculations have started to swirl once again although the way Mr. Feige put it seems to reveal that the role of the secret character may be cameo or minimal. Still, it does add an interesting twist considering the Avengers are in for a tough battle against the forces of Ultron.

The guessing game is not going to be that easy. Considering Marvel has a lot of female characters from the comics and animated series make the mystery female character pretty hard to figure out.

If she is an existing one, it could be Pepper Pots (Gwyneth Paltrow) from Iron Man and Avengers 1, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) from Thor or even a remote guess of maybe even Skye (Chloe Bennett) from the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The thing is that these names are sort of on the high-end names list, something which makes their cameo appearance look pretty bleak.

Whoever she is may be anyone's guess right now. But with just weeks away from the grand opening, all that should be revealed. On whether the mystery girl is someone important or not will be known.

"Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" hits theaters on May 1, 2015 so don't you miss it.
