It was previously reported that "Attack on Titan" season 2 will be premiering in spring 2017, although the studios have yet to announce an exact premiere date, leading many to speculate it will launch between March and April next year. When it does, the story is speculated to reveal the true identity of Krista Lenz.

According to Vine Report, it is speculated that Krista is in fact Historia Reiss and this would directly connect her to the royal family. If the rumors turn out true and that season 2 focuses largely on the rebellion against the royal family, where the Survey Corps rise up against the Reiss family, then it might end with Krista being crowned as the new queen.

This part of the story will reveal that several members of the royal family are in fact capable of turning into Titans as well. This, along with their connections to the origins of the Titans, may be why the Survey Corps leads a rebellion against them. This aspect of the story has yet to be confirmed when the series officially premieres next year.

However, the report does state that the "Uprising" story arc from the manga source material is not the only part being adapted for season 2. Vine Report reveals that the beginning half of season 2 may focus on the "Clash of Titans" story where Eren and his allies must battle the malevolent Titans such as the Armored and Colossal Titans.

According to the report, the two aforementioned Titans were in fact members of Eren's Survey Corps team all along and this part of the story has been teased in the official teaser poster for season 2, which sees the the Survey Corps and Eren in his Titan form fighting against the Colossal Titan.

"Attack on Titan" season 2 has yet to be given an official launch date but it is confirmed to be released by spring 2017.
