Although the "Attack on Titan" game will be based on the manga created by Hajime Isayama and the anime that was inspired by it, there will be new characters to meet.

There will be some unrecognizable flesh-eaters that will be roaming the game, which is dubbed "Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom." This is what Koei Tecmo producer Hisashi Koinuma teased in an interview with PlayStation Lifestyle.

"Yes, it will feature Titans specific to this game. There will also be Titans that have not appeared in the anime which fans of the original manga are familiar with," Koinuma said.

He did not give a clue as to which Titans will be the new ones, seeing that it will now be up to fans to identify these giants themselves in the upcoming "Attack on Titan" game.

As fans already know, the title will depict the important moments in the first season of the "Attack on Titan" anime. However, there will be new scenarios to be included, hence the new characters.

The "Attack on Titan" game will be released on Aug. 30 in North America and Europe. An ESRB rating has provided details about the upcoming title.

Unsurprisingly, it is rated "M" for mature primarily due to its "blood and gore, partial nudity, violence." This means that only gamers age 18 and above will be able to play.

"As characters fly around battlefields with wired jetpacks, they use swords to cut off titans' limbs, killing them with a slash at the back of the neck," the ESRB description for "Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom" reads.

"Battles can be frenetic, with large splashes of blood appearing after limbs are cut off. Finishing blows often result in larger blood-splatter effects. Throughout the game, Titans are depicted nude, with exposed buttocks, though they lack discernible genitalia," it continued.

Based on this explanation, the "Attack on Titan" game will not hold back on the gore, much like its anime counterpart.
