The Apple Watch 2 isn't being mentioned by Apple, but rumor mills have it that it is on the way. It is reported that the second-generation smartwatch is coming this fall.
The general consensus is that the Apple Watch 2 will be released in September alongside highly-anticipated flagships by Apple that they themselves are rumor mill favorites.
The first Apple Watch was released April last year, which is why reports were on overdrive about the Apple Watch 2 launching at the Worldwide Developers Conference or WWDC.
However, to the disappointment of Apple Watch fans, the event only featured the software products of the company, including the watchOS 3, which came with tons of new features.
In fact, the WWDC was spent on a good chunk of the presentation for the software. The most notable improvement is the instant response of the software, which means that users will no longer deal with annoying loading times.
It is also rumored that Apple is hard at work on improving sensors that did not make it to the original watch. This is so that they can incorporate them in the Apple Watch 2.
As per Macrumors, this includes sensors for the skin conductivity, blood oxygen level and blood pressure. Should Apple perfect them, they will definitely be up and running in the Apple Watch 2.
A faster processor and cellular connectivity is allegedly being prepared for the Apple Watch 2, which means that the smartwatch won't rely on a smartphone as much as the original Apple Watch did.
The device will reportedly pack all that stellar features and specs in a much thinner build (20 to 40 percent slimmer than its predecessor).
As far as release date goes, all reports point to a September 2016 launch for the Apple Watch 2. Around that time, the Apple Watch will be one and one-half years old.
