Taissa Farmiga's highly anticipated return on "American Horror Story" is expected to happen in the ninth episode of "American Horror Story 6: Roanoke."

Speculations about Farmiga's debut in the sixth season of the critically-acclaimed horror anthology series stemmed from the trailer for "Chapter 9," which also appears to be an hommage to highly successful found footage film "The Blair Witch Project."

Just like the previous episodes, details about "Chapter 9" remain under wraps. But speculations claimed that Farmiga will portray the role of one of the backpackers who stumbled upon the horrors surrounding the colonial farmhouse in North Carolina during the dreaded Blood Moon.

However, other speculations claim that Farmiga might also portray the role of the real Scathach who is portrayed by Lady Gaga in the fictional reality show "My Roanoke Nightmare." She could also portray the role of the real Priscilla, the dead child from the 16th century. Priscilla's spirit is portrayed by Estelle Hermansen.

However, no matter what character the actress will portray, her life could still be in peril since the current season of "American Horror Story" vows to eliminate most of its characters towards the end of the season.

According to the teaser for the season that was posted by MTV, "Every participant in this series died under mysterious circumstances. Except for one."

The body count now includes Shelby (Lily Rabe), Mary Agnes (Kathy Bates), Matt (Andre Holland), Rory (Evan Peters), Dominic (Cuba Gooding Jr.), Sidney (Cheyenne Jackson), as well as several members of the murderous Polk clan. This means that only Lee Harris (Adina Porter), Monet (Angela Bassett), and Audrey (Sarah Paulson) are the only characters remaining in the series. However, their lives might also be at stake in the upcoming episode.

FX is slated to air the ninth episode of "American Horror Story 6: Roanoke" on Wednesday, Nov. 9.
