Amazon's own tablet device called the Amazon Fire HD 8 may not be as powerful as the other leading tablets in the market today. But reviews claimed that the entry-level device could make its high-end competitors a run for their money.

The Amazon Fire HD 8 does not have a flashy design compared to its competitors. However, it comes with a bumpier body due to the textured matte plastic back panel in either orange, black, blue, or pink colors. This also reportedly made the device more durable than the other tablets, yet there is no proof about this claims.

Reviews about the product claim that the Amazon tablet looks durable even if it comes with a plastic casing. It also runs with a decent 1.3 GHz quad-core processor with a 50 percent bigger RAM compared to its previous models. It also prides itself on having 12 hours of battery life, which product reviewers proved to be true. This could help users enjoy a lot of apps, games, and other in-app products for free through Amazon Underground. Those who were subscribed on Amazon Prime, on the other hand, can have an unlimited access to millions of ebooks, songs, and videos.

The Amazon Fire HD 8 does not have the same crisp resolution like the iPad mini 2, but the device's 1280 x 800 high definition display with 189 ppi is reportedly enough to give users a satisfying viewing experience. It also comes with a minimal 2-megapixel rear-facing camera to take photos or videos.

The Amazon Fire HD 8 is also a lot cheaper compared to its competitors since the price starts at only $89.99. But this will come with a lot of ads. But users can opt to pay more if they want the ads to go away.

Also, the Amazon Fire HD 8 will soon introduce its own virtual assistant called Alexa in the coming days.
