Agents of SHIELD spoilers news: Kyle Maclachlan waiting in the wings for future return

Kyle Maclachlan Reuter

In the finale of Agents of SHIELD season 2, Cal Zabo (Kyle Maclachlan) parted with a peaceful life and an erased memory that saw him practically start from scratch.

That final scene he had with Skye (Chloe Bennett) seemed to be the last we may have seen of Cal and probably his last appearance if everything is to be concluded as the series heads to a new season. But the underlying thing here is that Cal is not dead, meaning that he may return at any point if the show calls for his re-emergence.

However on a different note, that scene could be seen as something hanging meaning that Cal's current situation could at some point differ as Agents of SHIELD continues to air.

Scenarios? It's really more of a choice between good or evil.

Will he at one point re-appear and help Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) or will Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) get to him first and place him back to his old (Dr. Hyde) ways?

Anything can happen but for now there is no word on whether Cal will be back, especially in season 3.

But for now, there is no storyline that somehow calls for Maclachlan's character to re-appear, though flashbacks could call him back to duty.

And of course, he is looking forward to that at some point moving forward since there are endless possibilities that could call for Cal to return, good or bad as that may.

"There have been no conversations about it but I guess it's not outside the realm of possibility," he says. "We'll see" he revealed through an interview with Zap2it.

For the time-being, Maclachlan has a busy plate. He is currently busy with Pixar's "Inside Out" and is also part of Twin Peaks Season 3 which is set for production this coming fall.
